Delivery Team

Delivery Team

Our CEO Andrew Waugh has over 15 years experience operating at Board level in a variety of private and public companies. With a proven track record of managing complex transactions and teams and driving project delivery, whilst also managing corporate governance and stakeholder issues. He has led teams to deliver projects on time and within budget, often in difficult circumstances, whilst maintaining a working environment based on trust and professional integrity.

As for the wider team, we deliver each project by carefully selecting a team of professionals as required by the demands of each project and co-coordinating and managing them from inception to exit. Working this way enables us to run an extremely lean and efficient business, ensuring that resources are managed to meet the exact requirements of each investment. It is this approach that has helped us to achieve growth through times of recession and ensured each project is delivered effectively.

Career Background

Andrew Waugh graduated in Construction Management, before qualifying as a Solicitor and practicing within international commercial law firms Davies Arnold Cooper (now Beechcroft DAC) and Hammond Suddards Edge (now Squire Patton Boggs). After a solid grounding in legal practice he moved into industry joining Pochin’s PLC, where he was Group Counsel & Group Company Secretary. During this time he operated at Group Board level with responsibility for corporate & legal affairs, including joint ventures, property & corporate acquisitions/disposals, the management of internal & external professionals, the management of disputes and London Stock Exchange compliance.

With experience of a large corporate environment, Andrew was approached by Urban Splash, a National residential/mixed use developer, to address the challenges within a rapidly expanding privately owned entrepreneurial company. There he developed the role of Group Legal & Commercial Director as a key part of the Group’s rapid growth phase. As such his role was focused on developing the internal team’s skills and governance of their operations, to ensure the Group maximised commercial advantage, presented a consistent approach and minimised risk exposure – through effective negotiation of key acquisitions, commercial contracts and funding agreements. All these initiatives were driven specifically to grow and enhance performance of the business, whilst preserving the culture and brand integrity across the Group.

Having taken an increasingly frontline role during his career, in 2008 Andrew decided to take the step of forming 53N, to exploit difficult market conditions and lack of traditional funding routes, to seek property & corporate investment and development opportunities. Since 2008, 53N has completed deals to the value of over £35M. These involved fundraising for the purchase of property and/or corporates, restructure and redevelopment, the formation of a sales and marketing strategy and ultimate exit via sale or refinance. 53N was hailed as one of the most noteworthy property companies born in the North West during the recession. In 2012 this won Andrew the accolade of a place in Insider Magazine’s “42 Under 42” class of business leaders and entrepreneurs. In addition, Andrew acts in a consultancy capacity advising companies on corporate strategy, restructuring, funding, legal & commercial matters and risk management.
